The Meaning of Christmas

Long ago and far away
God as a baby in a manger laid
Seekers and sages sought him in that day
And those who found him were forever changed

And the meaning of Christmas is Christ was here
History forever changed when God as man appeared
Well it’s a mystery of fact and faith
But it’s very clear that
Jesus changes everything

As the prince of peace he was innocence
But to the prince of this world he was violence
He said God is love and kind and just
And his son brings forgiveness
Well he said he was the truth, the light and way

And the meaning of Christmas is Christ was here
History forever changed when God as man appeared
Well it’s a mystery of fact and faith
But it’s very clear that
Jesus changes everything

Well he’s a liar, or a lunatic
Or he’s everything he claimed
Then truly he was the Son of God
Born of a virgin,
Lived a perfect sinless life
He was crucified for the sins of all mankind
But he rose from the grave
And now he rules at the right hand of the Father in heaven
To judge the living and the dead

Well the quest for truth still lingers today
And the question of eternity remains the same
What is the difference that Jesus Christ has made
for you, my friend? Well would you say that

Well he was more than a nativity,
Or long forgotten history
Jesus, still the King of Kings
